| FEATURES AND SPECIFICATIONS LC Connectors and Adapter The LC connector was developed to meet the growing demand for small form factor, higher density fiber optic connectivity. With this connector, space requirements on equipment bays, in distribution panels, and on wall plates has been reduced by 50%, over 2.50mm (.098") ferrule connectors, without sacrificing performance. Common and proven technologies have been combined in the LC connector system to deliver a high performance and easy to implement fiber optic interface. Utilizing the craft friendly RJ-45 telephone plug interface, the LC connector provides a reliable and robust latching mechanism while the time tested 1.25mm (.049") pre-radius ceramic ferrule is used to terminate the fiber. Molex LC connectors are available in both simplex and duplex configurations. Available in industry standard beige (multimode), blue (single mode), and green (angle polish) colors, and will accommodate 900um buffered fiber, 1.60mm (.063"), 2.00mm (.079"), or 3.00mm (.118") jacketed cable. With its 6 position tuning feature, the connector may be used to achieve unprecedented insertion loss performance by optimizing the alignment of the fiber cores. Additionally, 45 and 90 boot options are available for 1.60mm (.063") and 2.00mm (.079") jacketed cable. Simplex, Duplex and Quad LC mating adapters are also available in blue, beige, green and aqua colors. The adapters are available in snap mount or screw mount configurations, ceramic or metal alignment sleeves, and can also be provided with safety shutters on one or both sides to help prevent eye injuries. LC EMI shielding adapters featuring metal housings are also available for use in EMI/RFI sensitive applications.
