M62290L/FP 5.0 V Fixed Output Voltage DC/DC Converter REJ03D0850-0300 Rev.3.00 Jun 15, 2007 General Description The M62290L/FP is a general purpose DC/DC converter which provides 5.0 V fixed output. It is possible to simplify peripheral circuits and to design compact and low cost sets because this IC includes a lot of functions in small 5 or 8-pin packages. Especially this is most suitable for a local voltage regulator of audio sets as a converter from 12 V to 5 V. Features * * * * * Wide operation voltage range: 6 to 15 V (typ. VCC = 12 V) Low power dissipation: 1.1 mA (max., VCC = 12 V) Built-in oscillator without peripheral devices (120 kHz typ.) Built-in over current protection circuit Small 5-pin SIP and 8-pin SOP packages Applications Local voltage regulator of audio sets and general electric products Block Diagram Over current detection resistor VCC CLM 4 3 Current limit circuit OP Amp PWM Comp + + - 1 Collector IN 5 - + 1.25 V OSC (120 kHz) 2 GND OUT + REJ03D0850-0300 Rev.3.00 Jun 15, 2007 Page 1 of 10 M62290L/FP Pin Arrangement M62290L 5 4 3 2 1 (Top view) Outline: 5P5T IN VCC GND CLM GND Collector CLM VCC 3 4 (Top view) 6 5 NC IN NC : No connection M62290FP Collector 1 2 8 7 NC NC Outline: PRSP0008DE-C (recommend) PRSP0008DA-A (8P2S-A) (not recommend for new design) REJ03D0850-0300 Rev.3.00 Jun 15, 2007 Page 2 of 10 M62290L/FP Absolute Maximum Ratings (Ta = 25C, unless otherwise noted) Item Supply voltage Output current Power dissipation Thermal derating Operating temperature Storage temperature Symbol VCC IO Pd K Topr Tstg Ratings 16 100 450 440 4.5 4.4 -20 to +85 -40 to +125 Unit V mA mW mW mW/C mW/C C C Conditions Ta = 25C Ta > 25C 5-pin SIP 8-pin SOP 5-pin SIP 8-pin SOP Electrical Characteristics (Ta = 25C, VCC = 12 V, unless otherwise noted) Limits Block All block Error Amp.
