Scope This document is a notification of specification changes and errors to issue 4 of the TOCTL Data Sheet, PMC-960840, dated December, 1997. 1.2. Delay in signaling data with COSS = 1 In the SIGX, when a COSS signal is asserted on a change of signaling state the signaling data is updated in the SIGX Indirect Registers 20H to 37H after the following full signaling multiframe (3ms). In designs where the signaling data is needed within the same signaling multiframe the data is available in SIGX Indirect Registers 10H to 1FH. Please add the following paragraph to page 138 of the TOCTL Data Sheet: " Signaling data is not available for one full signaling multi-frame after the COSS[x] indication is available. If the signaling data is needed in the same signaling multi-frame that the COSS indication is available, the following registers can be read. PRGD Control Register programming The description of the PS bit in the PRGD Control Registers, on Page 174 of the Data Sheet, should be enhanced, by adding the following statement: "The PS Bit must be programmed to the desired setting before programming any other PRGD registers, otherwise the transmitted pattern may be corrupted. Any time the setting of the PS bit is changed, the PRGD Pattern Insertion Registers should be reprogrammed." 1.4. PMON BEE Count Register Titles The register Description Titles of the PMON BEE Count Registers on Page 148 and 149 of the Data Sheet only refer to the first 4 channels. The titles should be changed to: "Register 04AH, 0CAH, 14AH, 1CAH, 24AH, 2CAH, 34AH, AND 3CAH: PMON BEE Count (LSB)" "Register 04BH, 0CBH, 14BH, 1CBH, 24BH, 2CBH, 34BH, AND 3CBH: PMON BEE Count (MSB)" Also note that the "Normal Mode Register Map" on Page 39 is correct. 2 PMC-Sierra, Inc.
